The Daisy could be the best cocktail you've never heard of, especially for the warmer months, when the idea of sipping a long drink in the shade is the only thing you can think about.
Tart like a Sour, but served over crush ice with a splash of soda water for length, the Daisy comes in many different forms, and can be mixed up with a variety of alcohols. The categorisation as a 'daisy' is a little misleading. The name harks back to the cocktail's American origins, when 'daisy' meant 'something exceptional', rather than a cute little flower. Forget the floral, this is more of a fruity serve, and here, we use our citrussy Cardiff Dry Welsh Gin which lends itself perfectly to the occasion.
Super easy, simply add everything bar the soda water and garnish to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake to chill. Strain this concoction over crushed ice before topping with the soda water and dropping in sliced grapefruit and mint leaves to garnish.
