This Spiced Rum Hot Chocolate perfectly pairs our Black Batch Rum's rich notes of orange, warming cinnamon, and spicy cloves, with creamy chocolate. Our rum introduces a warm, spicy depth to the smooth chocolate, enhancing its rich layers of sweetness.
*The recipe below serves one, and uses a single measure of rum, but if you prefer a double measure, just add 50ml of rum instead!
Recipe:
- Black Batch Spiced Rum - 25ml
- Milk of your choice - 250ml
- Hot Chocolate Powder (we use one by CRWST!) - [follow the serving suggestions on your tub]
- Cinnamon sticks - 2
- Whipped or squirty cream
- Chocolate - enough to grate on top
Method:
- Pour the milk into a saucepan and heat it up, stirring occasionally.
- Once the milk is hot, reduce the heat, add the hot chocolate powder, and stir until the powder has dissolved and the liquid is smooth and velvety.
- Pour in the rum, add a cinnamon stick and stir to blend everything together.
- Once the cinnamon stick has released its warm, aromatic notes into the liquid, remove it from the saucepan.
- Grab your favourite hot chocolate mug, and pour in the rich, spiced liquid.
- Top with some whipped or squirty cream.
- Grate some chocolate on top.
- Garnish with a cinnamon stick.
